3.0

The story of In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is still nothing special which is why I can’t give more than three stars. I still like the angsty atmosphere of the series, but there’s not much more to it. It was pretty clear that the ending of the last volume was just a cliffhanger and that they wouldn’t actually kiss yet. Like I’ve said before, many moments in this volume were so cliché. One of those clichés is the worst, namely
a male character saving a girl from sexual assault to show what a good guy he is
. There are other ways to show this character trait.

What I appreciate about this volume though is that we get to know more about Yoi’s family life.  At this point, I honestly like the rival more than Kohaku since he’s at least likable. Furthermore, I can’t hear the word prince anymore; every character in this series must be so beautiful, it’s so unrealistic.
