Scott McCloud is definitely a forward thinker when it comes to comics. The book must have been eye opening for many when it first came out. As much of what McCloud speculated about, like broadband being widely available, has occurred, the book wasn't as revolutionary as back in the day. The book does provide a better understanding of the comic industry and how it works that I think is still valid in a lot of cases.
