I could and probably will one day write an essay about all the things I loved about this book. It was dense. Very dense and took a long time to get through but it was so very worth it. I’d like to read it again in a shorter time frame so I can pick up more details (there were so many!). Even when I had put it down for over a month it was on my mind so frequently that I barely had to think when I picked it up again.
This is such an amazing book for queer women to read. I learned a ridiculous amount about queer history and have never read or watched or heard a story with so many queer characters ever. It was to the point that I was surprised at any characters that were straight.
There are a few things that I’m still trying to piece together. Not because I didn’t understand them but because there is SO MUCH to this book that I’m trying to think if they were connected in some way.
I adored these characters. Even the villains were captivating. And I want so badly to watch this movie and learn this thing. I plan to read more by this author if they continue writing adult novels and I seriously would love to take a class with them just to talk about this book.
