The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer

4.0

Shame on me. I let myself think of Schumer's personae as her personality.

I often stop watching comedy routines when the performer's personae is inconsistent because I can't buy into their act. Schemer, on the other hand, is one of those comedians who puts on a consistent stage self.

In her book, Schumer comes across as introspective, hard working, caring, and, of course, funny. She bravely and vulnerably divulges all sorts of details about her life. The tones she takes vary by topic: self-deprecating, defensive, appreciative, and so on. In short: human.
