I wanted to love this book, but it just didn't live up to all the booktok hype for me. 

I didn't see the twist ending with Aaron, that came out of left field. Maybe I missed it but what exactly were the fire gods getting out of aaron becoming a God? I get why Aaron wanted to become one. It just felt slow to me, and I struggled to finish it.
