Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell Jr.

4.0

I was surprised by how good this book was. Science Fiction has a tendency to age very poorly, but this - perhaps because one of the main points of the story is that they don't know anything for sure about the "Thing" - stays clear of the usual pitfalls of outdated science. Yes, there are a few things they seem to take for granted as established science that come across as a tad dated now - such as the possibility that Venus or Mars is inhabited - but that only helps ground it in its particular time.

Overall, a great read.
