⭐️⭐️ — I had high hopes for loving this one and unfortunately it fell way below the bar.

- fake dating?
- forbidden romance?
- Age gap (900 y/o vampire & 22 y/o FMC)
- Bridgerton meets Twilight vibes

The pacing and plot started out quick with humor and I was really enjoying it. Then small plot points started to drag out for longer than necessary. The innocent, virginal FMC trope was thrown in. (FMC was overly innocent, if I might add). Which turned into another vague plot point that didn’t make sense until 70%; and even then it was barely justified. Top it off with the dreaded miscommunication trope, and it was a recipe for disaster. (You’d think after 900 years, the man would know how to communicate better 😂).

Overall, the plot dragged and the characters felt very one dimensional. I wasn’t sucked into the romance like I wanted to be. It was insta-lust to insta-love very quick without any valid reasons until 70-80% on why these two love each other after barely knowing each other for 3 days.

I started off loving it, but by 50% I was growing increasingly annoyed with it. At several moments from that point on, I couldn’t keep reading because the FMC or MMC would say something entirely stupid and I’d be annoyed again.

Lastly, I hated that he called her “Pet.” Like cmon, you really couldn’t come up with a better pet name for her, dude?
