2/5⭐️ DNF @70% My hopes for the rest of this series were just way too high. I really liked the first book and although I had to look over somethings I thought the rest of the books were gonna be just as good and I was excited. It wasn’t like that at all. I realized that the only sane characters that I liked were Styx and Mae. That’s why I liked the first book. I didn’t like the characters here, or the characters that were going to be in the upcoming books. I’m a very curious person and I can’t just go on not knowing what happens, so I read spoiler reviews. It honestly just seems like the books are getting worse and worse with so many plot holes and trying to make light of terrible characters.
Things really went from 0-100. First she’s closed off she wants to go back, she hates life out of the commune. Then it felt like all of a sudden, from no where she accepted it and accepted Ky. It didn’t feel realistic.
I got bored of reading the actual book, so I got the audiobook and it was so painful to get through listening to that. Just the way he read Ky’s thoughts. Horrid. But I couldn’t take reading the actual book anymore. It made me realize how bad the writing actually is. I’m so disappointed that this series didn’t work because I watched a cult show and it really inspired me to read this but it didn’t hit.
