overall a decent book. i thought the incorporation of egyptian gods pretty cool and interesting, and i was able to understand the explanations for why the magic worked the way it did. sometimes i found sadie and carter’s narration a bit corny and awkward (especially sadie’s), but considering they’re teens and the book is for a younger audience i can’t complain too much. i found the ending conflict felt a bit rushed with all the build up and story in between the beginning and end, but not so much so that i was super bothered by it.
