Twisted Love by Ana Huang

4.0

4 stars. I’d originally picked this up just to get on with the Twisted series, and didn’t expect to enjoy it since I’m not a huge fan of the tropes. However, Ana Huang spins quite the twisted (and well-developed) tale of two people with dark pasts.

Their romance was expectedly spicy, but what took me by surprise were the serious and heartfelt moments in between, making this more than the typical smut novel. Additionally, the story was suspenseful as promised, and while the third act irked me slightly, it was not long drawn and the de-escalation was appropriate and realistic.

I also particularly enjoyed the cast of secondary characters, especially those with their own romances later in the series, because we got introductions that made them stand out individually rather than blend into the background, so I commend Ana Huang’s thoughtfulness in that aspect.

Also, I would like to say that this book has me even more excited for Bridget’s story in Twisted Games. Although I worry over what challenges lie ahead of her, I love her and everything she has done in this book so I can’t wait to get to know her better. And, of course, I look forward to Dr. Josh Chen and Jules in Twisted Hate; they’re both so hot and flirty it may be too much for me! As for Stella’s story in Twisted Lies, it goes without saying–it is all the hype right now.
