I definitely enjoyed this more and felt more attached to the characters in this one than the author’s summer book, but there were aspects of the queer relationship in the story that I don’t like how they were portrayed. There were some toxic elements that weren’t ever addressed fully. And the straight relationship had a great backstory, but we started in media res almost with them and so I didn’t feel very attached. I did like how I could see how these characters made a guest appearance in the author’s summer book though.
