Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray

4.0

I always find I enjoy Libba Bray's books better the second time around. It could be that, knowing the plot, I'm not so fixated on what's going to happen and can better appreciate her writing. And her writing is so very good. Bray has such a way with metaphors, and is so skilled at writing authentic 1920's dialogue, something I think lots of authors struggle with. I still love all of the characters, and now I'm burning to find out what happens to them in King of Crows!
