Válka S Mloky by Karel Čapek

challenging dark reflective tense

4.5

It was a book that I was torn between very mixed thoughts. I couldn't read it easily. The fact that the flow of time was very slow at the beginning and then very fast caused me to lose track of the story a little. I can't say whether I liked it or not. I just really liked the author's conversation with himself at the very end of the book. Why? Because I've been experiencing similar questions in my inner world for as long as I can remember. I would like to end with a short quote; "If the issue was only about salamanders versus humans, maybe something could be done; but humans versus humans... You can't prevent that."
