The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka

4.0

When I first encountered The Metamorphosis in my 11th grade World Lit class, I gave it a cursory glance, rolled my eyes, and proceeded to write the assigned essay using the SparkNotes.

I'm very very grateful I decided to revisit it before rating, cause I would have missed out on a wonderfully disturbing tale and an astute symbol of mental illness and alienation. I laughed, I cried, & I was left very discontented by the end - which is probably the entire point? Poor poor Gregor, I feel for you, I really do.
