Murder of a Smart Cookie by Denise Swanson

4.0

Skye's uncle is the mayor of Scrumble River and decides to hold a 100 mile long yard sale to perk up business and interest in the town. Skye gets the job as coordinator after getting fired from a job in an antique store. After the start of the sale the owner of the antique store is found dead at Skye's family yard sale booth. It is in the county not the city jurisdiction so the county Sheriff is in control of the investigation and is not very good and doesn't like Skye.
She is busy making sure all is going ok with the yard sale but gets caught up looking for the killer especially a nice old lady she likes also is murdered and her uncle orders her to find the killer. She is also dealing with her parents fighting and is staying in their house as she has rented out her cottage to a TV crew for the yard sale. Her friend, Trixie, is having problems with her marriage and the young teenagers, Justin and Frannie, who she advises are also having problems. To top it off her boyfriend Simon is in California and she is supposed to keep an eye on his mother and she is having feelings for Wally, the chief of police. Quite a busy summer for Skye.
The story moves along at a good pace with interesting bits and pieces intertwined.
