Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese
2.5
Despite the Bergman Brothers quickly becoming one of my favorite romance series, the first installment Only When It’s Us is a rough start. Liese’s signature authenticity is present but is accompanied by poor pacing and an immature female protagonist. A fair bit of Willa’s development happens off-the-page which weakens the character arc that, I’d like to think, the author had in mind for her. I personally don’t recommend starting the series with book #1 as this is not a fair representation of Leise’s strength as a writer.
