The Secret History by Donna Tartt

5.0

Absolutely diabolical in craft and also a romp. So rich in references but it’s about a bunch of weirdo nerds who take their nerdery too far. Actually, truly, genre-bending. Makes me want to get an MFA (I will not be doing this as a competitive academic environment where we are creating a body of work would kill me).  Am patiently waiting for DT4 and I fear I will hate the rest of her oeuvre, and that’s fine by me. This book is a heater. Also didn’t mind the length as I’m a person who watches some anime filler and I love a little side adventure.
