parts of the writing are so so beautiful. sadly, i could not get very far. i am obsessed with metaphors, metaphors are one of my favorite things in existence. but, um, good lord was this RIFE in metaphor. like, so much metaphor that it impedes, instead of aids, the storytelling process.
