Good Material by Dolly Alderton
5.0
Good Material follows Andy, a guy in his mid thirties struggling to make it as a comedian as he has just been dumped by the love of his life Jen. He can't really see a way forward without her and turns to his best friend Avi (married to Jen's best friend), alcohol and a new pal in Morris to get him through.
Dolly Alderton can literally do no wrong. I've not read a book about a break up from a man's perspective before but it worked so well.
It had me laughing out loud throughout and I really loved the cast of characters along the way as Andy does some bizarre things to try and move on.
Finishing the book with Jen's perspective was a great way to end the story and her reasons for the breakup were interesting to read through.
Overall great!
