One Piece, Vol. 29: Oratorio by Eiichiro Oda

adventurous emotional funny fast-paced

5.0

Things come to a head in this volume! Enel is still playing his survival game and the war between him and the Shandians is escalting. Meanwhile, Robin finds the ruins of Shandora and you can see how fascinated she is with the history of the Sky Island and the fact that they house one of the mysterious Poneglyphs. The most hilarious moment of the volume is when Luffy is still stuck in the gigantic snake that he thinks is a 'cave'. He keeps kicking it from the inside, so it goes on a rampage across Upper Yard 😂 In the end, Nami and Aisa end up inside the snake as well and Nami's furious with Luffy for his antics.

Enel joins the battle in the Upper Ruins, as his game is drawing to a close and he wants to win his bet about five people surviving. He also reveals his grand plan of abandoning Skypiea and taking off with his Ark Maxim. He plans to let the island crash into the Blue Sea as he no longer has any need for them. Conis is devastated when she realizes that her entire homeland is about to be wiped out and races off to warn everyone, so they can start evacuating! Everyone else starts fighting Enel, but it seems like he's too powerful because of his Devil Fruit!
