This is the second book in the series but could be read as a standlone. This book follows Chrysantha whose now a widow duchess but someone claims they are the heir and she must figure out a way to get rid of him. I have been waiting for this book since the author released the title. I knew I had to read it and let me tell you that this book was amazing. I really enjoyed the storyline and the conflicts in the book. This book takes place as the same timeline of when Alessandra is getting married. This book is told from Chrysantha’s pov. 

 

Chrysantha is the FMC of the story and she and her sister always been in a competition. I really liked her character and seeing her fight for what she wants. Then we have Eryx who is the MMC of the story. He has a secret of his own which is easy to figure out what it is. I liked his character and seeing his love for Chrysantha. There are many side characters and some who make cameros. The romance is okay as I was getting more love from Eryx side then Chrysantha. Even to the end, she mainly wanted the money. The romance is enemies to lovers and forced proximity. 

 

The ending was well done and overall it was a really great book. I’m glad the author ended up writing this story because I always wondered what happened to the sister. I do wish the author added “what happened in book 1” page so those who read the first one a long time ago can see the connections.
