Did I pick this up because I saw an Instagram reel saying the main male character (a star football QB) gives off Joe Burrow vibes? Absolutely. No shame, in fact I’m sure the character’s features were described at one point, but 100% I imagined him as Joe Burrow the entire book.
This definitely felt like a reverse of “The Prince and Me”. There’s a scene where Viv learns about farming and manual labor on Jace’s family farm and it reminded me so much of Eddie’s character and how he had tucked away that bit of knowledge to prove himself capable of ruling. I honestly rewatched the Prince and Me and sure enough the similarities were glaring, especially with the rambunctious family
