This book has left me speechless. It’s infuriating to read, I won’t sugar coat it. I hated reading it at times but only because it’s heartbreaking and very topical, especially now. Rachel, the narrator is very reliable and trustworthy - I never found myself getting annoyed with her or her decision making. However, I did find myself gettin slightly annoyed with Hannah, but I think her actions are justifiable. It’s filled with twists, turns, heartbreak, and frustration but I think it’s an important story to read.

I do wish I knew it was about a rape trial and prior rape case in the same town. I received this book from Book of the Month and all I knew was that it was for people who like true crime and podcasts. I just wish it gave a clear warning about the subject matter because it was triggering at times. The book itself is well-written, but a heads-up would have been nice so I could emotionally prepare.
