I enjoyed this a lot. There's not much plot but the atmosphere builds quietly and the book got under my skin without me noticing. I really liked the writing style and the descriptions of the countryside. I haven't read anything else by Lively and first picked this up in a charity shop because I'm drawn to the Penguin Modern Classics, however I'll definitely look out for more of her books now.
