Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

4.0

The fact that this book was written by a woman (at the age of 20!!) in the 1790s is truly amazing. Just that, on its own, deserves a slow clap.

What I found particularly captivating about this book is its ability to transport us to the Regency era. Through her vivid writing, I could easily envision myself living alongside the Bennet family.

What I LOVE about reading an old book is how it allows us to connect with people who lived such different lives so so long ago, gaining insights into their priorities, their humor, and their world. It's like taking a journey back in time and getting the chance to see a tiny glimpse of how life was back then.

While I believe that if this book were written today, it might be considered just an 'ok' read and story, its historical significance and the perspective it offers make me appreciate every little detail. I'm truly glad I picked it up from my classic TBR novels.
