Amazing story
I didn’t know until I read the afterword that this was a true story and I am just amazed. This story was very difficult to read at points because of the emotion the writing brings out. I’ve read many Holocaust stories in the past and many gloss over the devastation and focus on the inspiring parts of people escaping and surviving. This story did both but did not skip over any of the devastation or the raw emotions of the characters. It spends a lot of time on the very sad parts. There were plenty of heroic and awe inspiring moments throughout though! Awesome storytelling, because like I said I didn’t realize it was all true!
