Hex Appeal by Kate Johnson

2.0

This was my first book by Kate Johnson and there were things I liked, and things I disliked.

The premise of the book was sound, but there were too many elements conflicting with each other. The shape-shifting house, the witches themselves and the ordinary people in the village.. I found it confusing and rushed.

The writing style jumped from chapter to chapter almost as if different people contributed parts of the story.

There were comedic moments but they were thin and far apart in the book.

I can't see this as a rom-com as both parts were lacking.

The mmc felt very fat-phobic at times, which was an immediate no no for me.
