This is the best RH I've read in a long time by far. Holy fuck it was so good.

This book had everything that I've been desperate for in a series lately: unique concept, fantastic writing, slow-burn romance. I mean, the romance was basically non-existant in this book and I loved it?? Just getting to know the characters was enough to entice me in for the long haul.

Speaking of which, I've never read a Why Choose with such a large harem, but it's handled really well. Each character is distinctive and I don't have too much trouble keeping track of who's who
(I feel like it's reasonable to get at least a little confused with 10 romantic interests 😂)
. We haven't gotten to know all of the guys well yet, but I actually prefer it that way. It would have felt too rushed and forced to be building relationships with all of them simultaneously, so the fact that we've gotten to know some of them quite well, some of them a little bit, and some are still a totally mystery gives me faith that they'll all get their turn in the spotlight when the time is right.

This book could have easily fallen into the trap of trying to feel too edgy/dark/hardcore, but it does a fantastic job of setting the stakes in a way that feels natural and believable.

I also love that Isobel has a female friend, it's sadly uncommon in RH. Plus Eve just seems really cool, I hope we get to see her hanging out with the guys eventually.

I'm so glad that I can jump straight into the next book but I can already feel that I'm going to be left desperate for the following unreleased book afterwards. This series has wormed it's way into my brain and I'm loving it 🥰

Edit after second read through: When was the last time I read a book twice in the space of a week? I honestly can't remember. Not since I was a teenager probably, but this series is just that good. I'm really enjoying analysing everything now that I know more about the story.
