For every mystery that 12-year-old Sarah Robinson and her family solve, more pop up in the third part of Bodeen's Shipwreck Island quadrilogy. It's a great scifi/fantasy/adventure mashup, and seems to have been inspired by classics like Swiss Family Robinson and Jules Verne's Mysterious Island. The action is sharp and the peril is surprisingly realistic, but the best part of the story is the growing relationships among Sarah's family.
