Building Fences by Violet Howe
5.0
This is not my normal genre but everybody needs a little romance in their life sometimes! Once I started reading, I couldn't stop.
Carolyn Miller is recently divorced with two children and a controlling ex. After her husband grudgingly takes the children on his scheduled weekend, she gets an unexpected chance to meet her birth mother. After a blown tire and a case of mistaken identity, she meets the name she never knew she needed - the cowboy Levi Parker. Levi provides a strong shoulder for her to lean on as Carolyn faces a serious of revelations about her birth parents, her ex-husband, and herself.
The story is a meet cute and not really that surprising but the characters really rang true for me. The teenage daughter was just the right mix of teenage sarcasm, angst and compassion.
I enjoyed this book and will definitely check out her other books.
