A good book! Compelling and I liked the two main characters.
The development of their romance was so painful to see! They’re both so stupid but I’m glad it worked out.
I do have to say I knocked a couple points of for John Keating’s narration. It was quite stunted I felt. He had four accents, three he was actually decent at, one he was very bad and that’s the one he chose to give to the main character. One of true grit and determination and he gave her a voice that honestly made her sound like a bumbling fool. Really disappointing. Not to disparage the West Country accent in any way, but John Keating cannot do it very well at all.
