A very bizarre read that felt more satirical and allegorical than grounded. Not sure if it was hard to follow because the world building felt scattered and disjointed like a stream of consciousness or if because the events that were happening were so fucking wacky that, at times, the narrative seemed almost nonlinear. Who knows? Not me! It was basically Mean Girls meets Girls season 4 with the writer workshop meets blowing up bunnies meets genderbent Stepford Wives? Idk it was weird but not especially fun. Was so hopeful about this one and ultimately…blah.
