a frustrating read! i think i prefer normal people, though maybe that’s cuz it was my first foray into contemporary lit fic and now i am more critical… who knows. anyway this was a FRUSTRATING read GOD these people are comically bad at communicating!!!!!! that’s the point but i feel like in normal people i kind of understood why they were doing what they were doing but in this…??!! idk what frances was on about half the time. insufferable (and sometimes relatable! - i suppose that’s the point of sally rooney!!). nick pissed me off too do not get it twisted i couldn’t stand a single character in this book i think they should all collectively stop thinking about themselves and their woes it would do them a world of good. watch an episode of gossip girl, have a laugh. i do still really like sally rooneys writing her prose is very blunt and it feels very reeeeal idk. not even sure what to give this cuz i tore through it but i don’t know if i enjoyed reading it neccesarily… 3.25/5?????
