I should have DNF’d this book but I kept hoping for improvement. The writing reads like a laundry list recounting of Prince Harry’s life - this happened and then this happened and we went here and then there. I had hoped for more introspection and deep self analysis or even just gossip! The theme of the book seems to be: I’m here to say these things first - like blowing up a building and just walking away to leave others with the aftermath. As an American I have absolutely no investment in this family or the royal culture but I do enjoy reading memoir and of one’s lived experience. Unfortunately, Harry just isn’t deft enough with his words to make even his trauma remotely interesting. I would pass on this and watch the Oprah interview and a Netflix piece instead. Virtually everything that was recounted in this book has been recounted in those pieces as well.
