The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski

2.0

I didn't enjoy this at all. Or at least almost at all. Since the game was so atmospheric and interesting I thought I'd find some of it in the books. Of course this is just a collection of short stories but the writing style seemed flat to me. Not only the writing style but the characters had absolutely no depth (except Yennefer, I actually liked how she was written) and I have found almost nothing original in the storyline. The only thing that really catched my full attention was the story of the elves and how they'd die out and that was it. All the associations to known fairytales seemed kind of childish and ridiculous but maybe it's just me. Maybe I'll like the real novels more but I need to take a little break from the witcher books first.
