Ok, so I have NO idea what they mean by this book being full of "dark humor." Perhaps just that she wrote it with a lighter tone than the subject matter warranted? I spent all but the last chapter both enthralled and horrified. My heart goes out to Jenny. I think that while much of this story is relatable only to other child actors who are also placed in difficult, often abusive, situations the overarching themes of abuse, denial, and eating disorders will meet other survivors where they are. It also opened my eyes to more causes and displays of disordered eating than I had previously known. It's an emotionally challenging book.
