The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller

4.0

The older I get, the more I wonder what is wrong with people. That’s how I felt through most of this book. Not sure I feel resolved about the ending either, but I am glad to have read the book. Loved Peter and Jonas and Anna, but could not understand Eleanor’s mother or father at all, even though I felt sorry for her mom. Felt even sorrier for Conrad and his parents, even while the whole time I hated him. People are complex. People are terrible. But I think most people are doing the best they can to get to the next day, and I think this book did a good job of showing that.
