Small town Academia with a twist of unrequited pining and family drama!

Lucy may be a rich girl but she has never used her status to further her goals. She enjoyed her college so much she stayed on once she graduated! Her mother wanted her to be a Southern Belle and marry well but Lucy would rather be curled up with a good book!

Forrest is the super smart boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He used his education to escape his alcoholic but loving father. He never seems to be able to make a relationship stick and he's fed up fending off undergraduates.

These two have literally circled each other for years. From a one sided crush, to colleagues, to friends - Lucy and Forrest are the epitome of slow-burn romance. But finally the stars have aligned, Forrest has dropped the scales from his eyes and Lucy has summoned the courage and the friend zone has been blasted apart! As usual everyone around them could see the chemistry and potential but these two were oblivious.

The secondary characters were great fun and Lucy's bestie has the most unique job I've ever read about! The family like atmosphere of this little English Department was lovely - everyone a different personality but Lucy was the glue holding them together. A cosy hug in a warm sweater in book form.
