The multiple POVs and non-linear narrative is my cup of tea. The first third is a slog, but the ingenious plot and stunning prose are very much worth it. All the seemingly unconnected threads are cleverly tied up at the end.

5 stars, despite the freaking vivisection.

is curious. The book was published years before the series, so I can't help but wonder if this inspired
