Across the Way by Mary Monroe

medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

4.5

This was a good ending to the series. The things that people go through to keep secrets and how people fall from the high pedestals that they are put on. I felt bad for Joyce, Yvonne, and Betty Jean’s children. They got mixed up with conmen and ended up with terrible fates. I’m glad that Joyce finally found true happiness. I wish that Yvonne wouldn’t had better relationships with her children. And what will happen to Odell’s sons without his support?

All in all it was a good book and series.
