Record of Blood by Sabrina Flynn

4.0

A well-written historical mystery that finally fills in a lot of the missing background to Atticus Riot. Additionally, there's a lot of great stuff about what San Francisco was like in 1900. I really love all the historical research that goes into these books, and I appreciate that the author puts in an afterwards and a bibliography, because I love having the chance to follow up on the real life history.

The actual framework of the outer mystery in the book was a little convoluted for how simple it wound up being, but there was so much else going on that I'm willing to forgive it. (The mystery itself was more like 3 stars, the rest of the book makes it 4.)
