The Lake House by Kate Morton

3.0

I enjoyed this book very much. It easily could have been confusing with several cases going on at once, but everything wrapped up neatly. I only wish it wasn't so easy to guess the outcome of the two cases. The best books are ones that cause me to guess 'whodunit' wrong rather than guessing the twists before they are twisted.

As far as character development goes, the author did well with the characters from the past, but I failed to connect with Sadie Sparrow. There was just something missing there. I wanted to feel something for her but there was just something missing that caused me to not be able to connect to her. I did, however, care a lot about Alice and Eleanor and felt a connection to both of them.
