They Don't Need to Understand: Stories of Hope, Fear, Family, Life, and Never Giving in by Andy Biersack

informative reflective fast-paced

3.0

After only recently getting into Black Veil Brides, I enjoyed learning more about Andy, how the band came to be and their journey over the years.
At times the writing style was a bit exhausting, being a bit repetitive and jumping ahead of the story (chronologically inconsistent) and then back, which was confusing sometimes. I also didn't care about certain topics that seemed like tangents and would sometimes reveal a relevance to the story only at the end of them, while some things were a little under-explained.
Still, I feel like I do understand Andy better now. And while I don't agree with or relate to much of it, I admire his determination and creative spirit. So, the book did what it was supposed to - tell me more about this man's life - and, despite the perceived flaws, was still entertaining.
