The first book in the duet ended on a major cliffhanger and the second one brings shocking revelations, some betrayals but Sera, the female lead is really « in charge » and confident.
Her life choices permit us to read steamy scenes and not once does she doubts herself, she’s more grounded than ever!
Even though it’s a reverse harem situation, the book isn’t all about that and it’s sweet to see how Sera’s actions and her personality bring forth the admiration her men have for her.
There are a lot of obstacles, difficult and sad events, but her old and new allies come together and work to keep her in her position of power, giving her the perfect dedicated army to achieve her goals.
We have to wait till the very end to take a breath and confirm what are going to be the losses and gains after all is said and done.
