Three stars may be generous. The novel is a bit racist at the beginning and takes me a bit out of the story. The racism tones down a bit, but then mysoginy and fat shaming pick up. It was a surprising experience.

Aside from that, it is also quite uninteresting for most of the first 180 pages - the new characters introduced in this book aren't ones that I grew attached to. I ended up at three stars because we get a number of twists and turns at the end that were pretty satisfying, but even those events don't make up for the struggle it took to get through most of the book.
