The Girl Who Wrote in Silk by Kelli Estes
1.0
Can white people please stop writing poorly researched historical novels that center non-white characters? Can publishing please make room for more ownvoice authors? No one can tell me there is not a single American Chinese who has written - or would be interested in writing - a story set during the Chinese Exclusion Act... and who would easily get something so simple as the language that was spoken right... as well as not having non-white characters talking about themselves with racist language... slanted eyes... really? And no one through the whole publishing process caught that? smh.
I am not saying white authors can't have non-white characters, but maybe it's not a white person's place to tell their traumatic history.
