This book was a very interesting exploration of Indigenous Australian spirituality as someone who previously knew next to nothing about it, and I loved the characters too - the conflict between Twoboy and Jo prompts very compelling and nuanced discussion about what it actually means for Indigenous peoples to regain authority over stolen land. Plus I loved the extent to which all the storylines ultimately linked back to Jo's deep love and compassion for her daughter. The book was just a tad slow-paced and dense, but I think that did help the story rather than hinder it.
