A solid book about the craft of writing. It's limited in many ways--it lacks diversity and is definitely rooted in a certain time, place, and culture. But it offers a wide variety of advice and I appreciate Koch's tone, which is very encouraging. This book wants you to succeed, and I think most writers need that confidence injected into them if nothing else, so I'd recommend it if you're looking for books about craft that present basic principles and are more abstract.
