The Lorax by Dr. Seuss

4.0

Finished reading: March 11th 2023

Read for my Reading Through The Centuries challenge. I won't be writing a full review for this one.... I somehow never came in contact with the work of Dr. Seuss when I was little, so I've been slowly making my way through the books as an adult. I've watched the movie adaptation more than once, and when I saw that The Lorax fitted one of my final pending (after 1950) years I decided to just give in and read it. It's quite different than the movie adaptation, but it does have that same essence and I love how it helps making children aware of the environment, the importance of trees and how capitalism can ruin a whole ecosystem. The illustrations are wonderful, and the fact that they grow more and more grey only helps reinforce the message behind this book. It's a perfect story to read to and with children!
