The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez

Ohhh man. oh man. literally the only criticism I have about this story is that I wish it had been more based in Filipino myth based on the framing of it being a story told by a lola. But honestly, a lot of us don't know a lot about our own culture. It was violently erased, after all. So in a way, I feel like I come from this story, too, that the act of reinventing our own history, our own queer history, has been fulfilled.
